Screw Plug Immersion Heater

Screw Plug Immersion Heater are mainly intended for heating fluids, static or in circulation, but also gases.

Widespread technology in the industrial sector, these heating elements are in direct contact with the fluid . They can be installed horizontally, vertically, at the base of the tank…. Main applications: water, oil, fuel oil, etc.

Consisting of several tubular heating elements brazed on an ISO or GAZ screw plug , these immersion heaters can be fitted with a thermowell allowing the use of a thermostat.

Screw Plug Immersion Heater are used for heating fluids such as water, oil, fuel oil but also gases. Immersion heaters are typically mounted horizontally or vertically on stagnant fluid vessels or in circulating fluid heater bodies.

In addition to our range of immersion heaters in stock , we are able to manufacture custom made models according to your needs, your thermal and dimensional constraints (bottom of the tank, etc.).

For heating in demanding environments, we also design ATEX / IECEX immersion heaters.

Technical characteristics

Equipped with metric or gaz screw plug , our immersion heaters available from stock are intended for heating water or oil depending on the model, for use up to 110°C . We also carry out custom manufacturing models, adapted to the fluid and temperature of your application.

  • Heating elements in incoloy ( water heating) or stainless steel ( oil heating) depending on the application, sealed in resin and brazed on plug.
  • Hexagon screw plug with metric pitch ( M45x2 or M77x2 ) or gas ( 1″1/2 or 2″1/2 ), in brass or stainless steel depending on the application, double thread.
  • Thermowell for inserting a control device (thermostat or sensor – optional)
  • Connection by threaded terminals,
  • Immersion heaters supplied pre-wiredwith klingerite seal, strips for single-phase or three-phase coupling.

In addition to our standard Screw Plug Immersion Heater, we offer a range of accessories: polycarbonate or aluminum connection boxes , solder rings , integrated thermostats , etc.

We also carry out custom manufacturing models , adapted to the fluid and the temperature of your application.
Examples of special designs: remote connection cover for temperatures above 110°C, steel or stainless steel plugs, surface treatment by passivation pickling, tank bottom model, etc.

Additional Products

Accessories for screw plug immersion heater:

  • Polycarbonate or aluminum connection cover , suitable for M45 or M77 models, to be screwed onto the plug.
  • Rings to be welded on the tank, M45x2 or M77x2, in stainless steel or steel. Ring with gas thread, on request.
  • M45x2 or M77x2 fixing nuts, in stainless steel or steel, to hold the immersion heater on the tank (alternative welding ring).

ATEX / IECEX Screw Plug Immersion Heater

Technical characteristics

Intended for heating fluids in an ATEX and IECEXenvironment, our ATEX screw-plug immersion heaters are qualified to work ingas zones 1 and 2 and dust zones 21 and 22, for temperature classes T6 (85°C) to T1 (450°C). VS).

Exclusively custom made according to the product to be heated and the environment, our ATEX screw-plug immersion heaters meet the following conditions:

  • Zone 1 (gaz), zone 2 (gaz), zone 21 (dust), zone 22 (dust).
  • Gas groups IIA, IIB, IIC and Dust groups: IIIA, IIIB and IIIC
  • Temperature class (to be specified): T6 (85°C), T5 (100°C), T4 (135°C), T3 (200°C), T2 (300°C) or T1 (450°C)
  • Ambient temperature: -20°C to +60°C
  • Certification: Ex II 2 GD – Ex d II C T6 to T1 Gb – Ex tb IIIC T85°C to T450°C Db

Features :

  • Heating body made up of one or more tubular elements in incoloy or stainless steel, depending on the application
  • M77 threaded plug, in brass or stainless steel.
  • Type “d” connection box (flameproof enclosure), IP 65 according to standard EN 60529. Optional IP 67.
  • ATEX II C cable glands (3/4″ NPT or M25 maxi) for power cables and safety cables
  • Ground terminals internal and external to the case.
  • Immersion heater equipped with 2 thermal safety devices (probe or thermostat) whose sensitive parts are located in a sealed thermowell located on the heating elements.
Product range

Our ATEX screw-plug immersion heaters are custom made , according to your specifications, on our production site in Evreux. They are specifically adapted to the product to be heated and the environment (tank, area, etc.).

Below is a summary of the main features:

  • The connection box is offset from the screw plug by 120 mm for class T3 to T6 models and by 220 mm for classes T1 and T2.
  • The safeties can be a bulb thermostat type, PT 100 probe, thermocouples (to be specified).
  • Non-heating zone of 80 mm, under the cap. it is possible to increase this length if necessary.
  • Supply voltage: 750 V max
  • Dissipated power: 27 kW max .
