Cast-in heaters

A molded element is made up of a heating resistance of the shielded element type, embedded in an aluminum, cupro-aluminum (aluminium bronze) or brass alloy giving it excellent thermal conductivity . It is specially designed to operate under optimal exchange conditions.

In flat or circular shapes, the molded resistors are made according to your specifications, according to molding procedures ensuring perfect homogeneity of the material and therefore excellent thermal diffusion .

The alloy is chosen according to the temperatures and conditions of use: aluminum for temperatures up to 400°C , brass and cupro-aluminum up to 650°C . These products can withstand significant mechanical stresses, such as the pressure of the heating plates when closing and locking the presses.

Technical characteristics

The overmolded armored elements are manufactured exclusively to measure, according to your specifications. They are used in particular on extruder sleeves and dies, air or gas heaters, cooking plates, vaporization equipment, rolling mills, packaging lines, press heating plates, etc.

The specific advantages of this technology have provided effective solutions for a number of applications:

  • An exceptional service life thanks in particular to the mechanical protection constituted by the alloy cast around the resistance.
  • The possibility of being machined and therefore of being able to be adapted to any type of surface to be heated.
  • High heating power density (8 W / cm²) and more homogeneous.

.

Characteristics :

  • Shielded element type heating resistor, defined by our design office, for its power and its forming (shaping before going to the foundry).
  • Overmolding alloy defined according to the conditions of use: cupro-aluminum , aluminum, brass. Other materials on request …..
  • When the overmoulds are half collars, they are held by straps fitted with compensated tightening (springs) exerting strong pressure to optimize contact.
  • Dimensional: consult us according to your needs.
  • Connection: by threaded terminals or clamp terminals. They can be protected by a remote cover , protecting against liquid and dust splashes.
  • Manufacture of unique pieces or small series .

.

  • Special finishes:
    • Drillings for inserting a temperature probe
    • Molded resistors can be fitted with a fluid or fin cooling circuit to avoid thermal inertia problems.
