Medium infrared
The mid-infrared between 2 and 4 µm can be emitted by emitters of different technologies.
With medium inertia, but faster than ceramic emitters, quartz emitters, characterized by a long lifespan, are suitable for automotive paint baking, but also for screen printing and for all drying applications, reactivation of glue , reheating….
Fast medium infrared lamps are characterized by their high reactivity: switching on and off in a few seconds.

Medium infrared
The mid-infrared between 2 and 4µm is produced by emitters of low inertia and of robust constitution. These transmitters, characterized by a long lifespan, are suitable for relatively superficial heating such as automotive paint baking, but also for screen printing, for all drying applications, reactivation of the glue, heating, etc.

Quartz tubes
Quartz tubes are made to measure , according to your specifications. They are commonly used for drying wet products, but also for laminating products… They can be used with a reflector to heat an area or be inserted into a metal cylinder in which they radiate.
- Coiled heating filament, inserted in a quartz tube and bathed in a complex halogen gas,
- Semi-transparent quartz tube containing a coiled heating wire,
- Connectivity by wires or threaded terminals, insulated by ceramic beads,
- Transmitters intended for horizontal use only.
Quartz tubes are exclusively made to measure, according to your specifications.
They are adapted to your needs, depending on the wavelength, the dimensions, the power, we have the possibility of adapting our solution to your request.
Below is a summary of the main features:
- Quartz tube: diameter 9.5 to 18 mm
- Tube length: 50 to 3000 mm, depending on tube diameters (larger dimensions, according to feasibility study)
- Connectors, 2 types:
- Flexible wires, nickel core, insulated with silicone glass silk (350°C max), which can be insulated with an additional silicone sheath, depending on the model.
- Threaded terminals insulated with ceramic beads sealed with thermal cement.
- Voltage: 230 V single phase, as standard. Other voltage on request.
- The heating power can be distributed over the length of the emitter, by reinforcing certain areas for example
.

Quartz lamps
Mid-infrared lamps are fast-response, being able to be turned on and off in seconds . They are used for drying applications of thin products in the plastic, textile, automotive industries, etc.
Main characteristics :
- Wound tungsten filament heated to high temperature ( 1800 K ), inserted in a quartz tube and bathed in halogen gas.
- Quartz highly resistant to thermal shock
- Power supply by metal tabs that can be formed to fit into your installation. Connectivity by wires on request.
- Ignition position: universal fitting.
.
Short infrared lamps have many advantages:
- Long life of 5000 hours on average
- The efficiency of these lamps is 85%, against less than 50% for shielded elements.
- These lamps, coupled with a suitable regulation system, allow very precise temperature control.
- Easy replacement
On stock range
- Metal tab connectors
- Heating length: 272 to 410 mm
- Power: 1000 to 2000 W
- Voltage: 230 V or 400 V mono, depending on models.
.
These lamps require a few precautions for use:
- Lamp connectors must not be subjected to high temperature (350°C max)
- Use gloves to handle the lamps so as not to leave greasy deposits on the quartz tube.
.
