Immersion Heaters
Intended for heating fluids, the different technologies of Acim Jouanin immersion heaters are characterized by their method of attachment: screw- on, flange or removable .
Consisting of one or more heating elements mounted on a fixing system, the immersion heaters are adapted to the fluid to be heated (water, oil, corrosive fluid, etc.) and to its operating temperature.
The electric heating elementss of immersion heaters can consist of a resistive nickel-chromium wire centered in a protective tube ( shielding ) and filled with magnesia providing electrical insulation and heat transfer.
En complément de nos modèles disponibles sur stock, nous fabriquons des thermoplongeurs sur mesure selon votre cahier des charges. We also produce models intended for explosive atmospheres ( ATEX ).
Another technology consists of centering the heating element in circular ceramics and protecting it with thermowell: these are Ceramic Core Elements.
Due to our experience, we will be able to provide you with the advice you need to define the product you are looking for (type and material of the heating resistor, specific power density, type of connections, method of fixing, regulation, etc.).

Products
A wide choice of immersion heaters adapted to your needs
- Screw-plug immersion heaters: Commonly used in industry, our standard range is intended for heating water or oil, for low and medium power applications. Tubular elements are welded or brazed to an ISO or GAZ screwed plug.
- Flanged immersion heaters: Consisting of multiple heating elements brazed or welded to a flange, they are intended for medium and high power heating. Custom-made, the different types of tubular elements (AISI, Incoloy, etc.) and our range of flanges of various shapes and sizes, allow us to meet your specific needs.
- ATEX Immersion Heaters: Certified for heating in gas 1, 2 and/or dust 21, 22 explosive zones , they are available in a screw-plug or flanged version. Certified for temperature classes T6 (85°C) to T1 (450°C) , they cover a wide range of needs.
- Ceramic Core Heaters (special immersion heaters): Intended for heating special baths or water heaters, these elements are protected by a thermowell, not requiring the tank to be emptied during dismantling. They consist of heating wire passing through an assembly of ceramic parts called barrels.
- Removable Immersion Heater (special immersion heaters): Used in open baths, they avoid cuts in the structure. The models at the base or at the edge of the tank allow the tubular elements to be in contact with the fluid or protected in sealed boxes for use in corrosive baths.
- Teflon Immersion Heater (special immersion heaters): Suitable for heating corrosive or acidic baths , the FEP or PFA insulated heating elements are maintained by a metal structure coated with a protection adapted to the type of fluid to be heated (PP, PVDF, FEP) or raw stainless steel. Small in size, they are mainly installed on the edge or at the base of the tank.
Applications
- Very lightly charged heating elements for surface treatment baths, oil baths and temperature sensitive products…
- Heating of domestic hot water (DHW) in collective tank or individual water heater, by screw-plug immersion heaters or Ceramice core heaters.
- Heating of heat transfer fluids : glycol, oil, gilotherm, etc.
- Heating of bitumen, heavy fuel oil…
- Heating of agri- food liquids (ground beer, milk, spirits, etc.)
.
Immersion heaters allow the heating of liquids or gases, static (in tanks, reservoirs or enclosures) or dynamic ( circulation heater ).
