To guarantee high-precision laser cutting, Acim Jouanin uses nitrogen, an essential gas that prevents sheet metal oxidation and facilitates the removal of slag, the residue generated when cutting thick sheets. For years, we sourced our liquid nitrogen from external suppliers, requiring frequent truck deliveries and resulting in losses due to evaporation during periods of high heat.
Faced with these economic and environmental challenges, we decided to invest in a self-contained nitrogen generator.
Using ambient air, which naturally contains 78% nitrogen, our generator separates the nitrogen from the oxygen and stores the gas under pressure. This intelligent system allows us to produce nitrogen at night, when electricity is cheaper, for efficient use during the day.
The generator is directly connected to our industrial air compressor, which is used to power various equipment in our workshops. This process allows us to guarantee a continuous supply of nitrogen.
